Men's Black Shorts NBA Miami Heat 1996-97 Mitchell & Ness Swingman
American size (M size = French L size)
If today we can more easily get our hands on textiles and shirts NBA vintage , we certainly owe it to Mitchell & Ness. Founded in 1904 in Philadelphia by Frank Mitchell and Charles Ness (you've probably figured out by now where nom comes from), the company initially offered clubs golf products, tennis racket strings, and baseball and American soccer uniforms for teams around the city.
In 1933, the brand took its first steps in NFL, equipping the Philadelphia Eagles team (Fly Eagles, Fly !), and did so for some thirty years! But it was in 1985 that the company turned a corner radical, thanks to a rather special request from a customer.
He came in with an old St Louis Browns jersey from 1949 and a Pittsburg Pirates jacket from 1960, and wanted them restored. A request that prompted the Philly-based company to reproduce old baseball uniforms. These reproductions were made after extensive research in old magazines, with collectors, and also by visiting the archives of the Baseball Hall of Fame in New York. The Mitchell & Ness we know today was born!
An offer that has since been extended to NFL and, of course, to our very own NBA, whose outfits have continued to evolve, from the sober, uncluttered jerseys of the '80s and '90s to the > and brightly-colored jerseys of the '80s and '90s.
